The walls themselves carry the weight of the building down to the foundation — there is no separate skeleton of columns and beams. It's the older, more traditional method, and it's still economical for small, single-storey structures with simple, boxy layouts.

RCC Framed Structure
A skeleton of reinforced cement concrete columns, beams, and slabs carries the building's load; the walls are just infill and carry no structural weight. This is the standard for independent houses, duplexes, and stilt+ formats across Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and the rest of Delhi NCR today.

When Load-Bearing Still Makes Sense
A genuinely single-storey structure with no plan to add a floor later — a small guard room, a boundary structure, or a compact single-level farmhouse extension — can still be built load-bearing economically. If there's any chance you'll add a floor in the next 10–15 years, engineer the foundation for RCC from day one; retrofitting a load-bearing foundation to carry an additional RCC floor later is expensive and sometimes not possible at all.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I convert a load-bearing house to RCC later?
Not without significant structural intervention, and often not at all depending on the existing foundation. This is why we plan the eventual floor count with you before construction starts, even if you only intend to build one floor now.
Does RCC cost significantly more?
For a single floor, the difference is modest. From two floors onward, RCC frame is typically the more economical choice overall once you factor in the wall thickness (and lost floor area) a load-bearing structure would need at that height.
